Behind Our Summer Collection
Imagine a table set on the terrace as the day begins to soften. Glasses catch the last light, linen stirs gently in the evening breeze, and the mountains are bathed in a warm golden glow. Family and friends gather, conversation lingers, and dinner stretches far after sunset. These fleeting summer evenings - quiet, effortless, and unforgettable - became the inspiration behind our Summer Collection.
A Table Before a Collection
I imagined a table where conversation lingered long after dessert, where linen softened in the evening breeze, and where every detail invited guests to slow down and savour the moment. The table has always been at the heart of these moments. From slow breakfasts accompanied by birdsong to long dinners beneath an open sky, it becomes a place where time slows, conversations unfold and memories are quietly made.
Meals are always bringing people together, whether that’s family, friends or both! The art of creating a table setting is something that is so joyful and personal, it’s in all the little details that you put in to set the mood of the evening - sourcing seasonal flowers, seating arrangements & handwritten place cards, fresh produce in homemade dishes - it’s all about care and consideration.
Gathering Inspiration
Inspiration doesn't always begin with a colour palette or a fabric swatch. More often, it begins with a feeling.
Some of my greatest sources of inspiration come from films. It's rarely about recreating an interior or a particular setting; instead, it's the atmosphere they leave behind. Nancy Meyers' films are a perfect example. Long after the credits have rolled, it's the warmth, ease and sense of home that stay with you. They remind us that some of life's most meaningful moments happen around a beautifully lived-in table.
That same feeling takes me back to family holidays in France. Days were spent wandering through bustling village markets, where baskets overflowed with seasonal produce and pottery shops were tucked away along the hilltop streets. We'd linger over coffee at little cafés, hearing the sound of church bells echoing through the village, enjoying long, leisurely lunches, and slowly make our way home as the afternoon faded.
Evenings were always my favourite. Each evening, the table was set on the terrace as the sun began to dip behind the mountains, watching the sky transform into warm amber tones before deepening into blue. Candles were lit, conversation flowed effortlessly, and dinner became an occasion to savour rather than rush. Those moments - simple, relaxed and quietly beautiful - are the moments that stayed with me.
Those memories became the foundation of this collection. I wanted to capture the quiet beauty of summer evenings - the warmth of the fading sun, the softness of natural linen and the relaxed elegance of a table where guests feel encouraged to linger. The gentle, sun washed palette reflects those fleeting moments as afternoon turns to golden hour and, eventually, candlelight.
For me, a beautifully set table isn't about perfection. It's about creating a feeling people remember.
Designed for Gathering
I never wanted the collection to feel overly coordinated. Instead, I wanted each piece to feel as though it had been collected over time. Objects with their own character that naturally belong together around the same table, while also sitting beautifully alongside pieces already found in your home. While dreaming up the collection, I knew I wanted to create a set of linen napkins that captured the relaxed elegance I had imagined. Linen was an obvious choice - its relaxed texture reflects the effortless atmosphere I wanted to create, becoming softer and more beautiful with every gathering.
Finding the vintage pieces became just as important as creating the napkins themselves. I spent time searching for objects that felt authentic, timeless and quietly beautiful - pieces that already had a story before becoming part of this one. I loved the idea of pairing something handmade with pieces that had lived a life before finding their way to this collection. Together, they create a table that feels layered, personal and collected over time, where every piece has its own story to tell.
The collection was never designed for special occasions alone. I imagined it becoming part of the everyday moments that often become our favourite memories - an impromptu lunch in the garden, coffee shared with friends, or dinner that stretches long after sunset.
Some of my favourite mornings began on the terrace. We'd come downstairs to find the breakfast table already set, a large carafe of freshly brewed coffee waiting, bowls of fruit, warm bread from the local bakery and wonderful green pottery. The air was still cool, the mountains were quiet, and the day felt full of possibility. Those are the moments I return to most often. Quiet, unhurried gatherings around a table that asks nothing more than for people to linger a little longer.
